My Fashion Illustrations

These are the fashion illustrations I created based on images from Vouge. After looking at inspiration from other designers, I roughly traced around the images using a pencil, I had the  outline of the figure. I scanned in my drawings and added in colour on Adobe Photoshop. The effect added to the drawings looks like a type of mono print. I went around the lines in a black effect to highlight the lines, which created this print look. By adding in different tones of colour, creates a more 3D look. I then blurred and merged the colours together to make them blend in. I am happy with my final outcomes, and with the style I have created for my work.

There are a variety of interpretations of fashion illustrations out there. All the above are different in their techniques, but still beautiful and inspiring in using the figure. The use of colour in all the pieces are cleverly used and I particularly like the effect that the watercolour makes. The simple line drawings are not accurate but give you an opportunity to create a unique interpretation of the figure for yourself. 

Ceramic Pegs

Ceramic Pegs 

Pressing white clay into a peg mold created these pegs. I created 30 duplicates of the peg. I then cut around each one delicately ensuring the fragile clay would not break. They were then fired in a kiln. I then used ten different types of decorating methods to add interest to the objects. I used stains, oxides, glazes and glaze pens.

     I am happy with the outcome and I believe the colour palett I have used complements the shape of the peg and they work well together.

Peg Wallpaper

For graphics, I decided I would create a variety of different wallpapers, made up of objects from my museum of colour. For this unit I had to collected different items that all had the colour green in common, I chose the colour green. In my collection I had a green peg. I decided this would look good as a modern wallpaper. After scanning the peg, I used Adobe Photoshop to digitally change the image.

       Using the magic wand tool, the background was removed. I changed the opacity so that only certain parts of the peg would be shown. Having duplicated the peg, whilst changing the colours each time, I made rows of pegs to create a colourful, modern wallpaper, which I believe would look stylish in any contemporary home.

Ice Cream Wallpaper

This wallpaper consists of an ice cream scoop. After scanning the object, I used the same process as the peg. I stylised it using a variety of tools. I only changed the colour of the ice cream and not the cone by using the selection tool then adjusting the colour levels. 

Knife & Fork Wallpaper

This is different from the first two wallpapers. The first two I created are vibrant and colourful, whereas this one is subtle and not as recognizable. By removing most of the solid colour from the cutlery, it gives a more delicate look, which is what I wanted to achieve. 

Leaf Wallpaper

This was created again from a scan of a variety of leaves. I did a negative of the colours, which made the leaves turn purple. This is a realistic style of paper. 

      All of my wallpapers, I believe work well as a collection. Each wallpaper has a different style, yet are still connected, whether it is through colour, style or layout. I tried to create each wallpaper for a modern day consumer, as I like a more modern house.
